Steering

Many unfamiliar phrases are thrown at you when you first start studying the art of performance driving.  Many relate to steering, so a quick glossary is a good start ...

Glossary of Steering Techniques

Rotational steering is a technique where the driver holds the wheel in a set position, usually around quarter-to-three, and keeps their hands in that set position on the wheel while steering. Often recommended when driving quickly for speed and accuracy.

Pull-push (or push-pull) Steering is a technique where the driver constantly moves their hands around the wheel rim.

Single input steering refers to selection of a steering angle that will take you through a corner (or series of corners) without correction.  This benefits car balance and tyre grip, so allowing a corner to be taken more quickly.
